WEATHER

Tumaren:
The altitude is 5,500 ft above sea level
January to March,  the days are hot and dry with  nippy evenings and cold nights.
May to July can be rainy.
August to November: the skies are clear but the days are a little cooler and the nights are cold

Baraka
Heat
It is hot in December, January, February and March, but Baraka House is angled to catch the Kaskasi Monsoon's breezes.
Rain
It rains in May, June and some of July, occasionally continuing sporadically into August and September.
Winds
Strong winds come with the Kaskasi monsoon between late May and late September.
Seaweed
You can find patches of seaweed on the beach between May and October.
Dolphin season
Dolphins are often present between November and April or when the sea is calm.

PACKING TIPS
For Tumaren:

We recommend:
1 pair trainers with socks
1 pairs walking shoes with socks
1 pairs strong sandals/flipflops
A water bottle
A day sack (rucksack)
Hat
High factor sun block
Insect repellent
Med kit with plasters, disinfectant, antihistamine cream, savlon cream, after sun cream, body oil/cream
1 pair binoculars
1 torch
1 camera and lots of film
One pair sunglasses
Books/dairies/drawing/writing stuff
4 or 5 pairs of yoga cloths short or long pants, tightish T shirt or vests/bra tops that will not fall down in an inverted pose.
2 Light-weight long trousers for walking
2 pairs of general summer shorts and shirts or stuff to bum around in - skirts if you like
2 sarongs for lounging around camp or using as shawls or sun cover
 swimming costumes or tankinis
Warm trousers or track suits for evening
One long sleeved fleece or jacket
One sleeveless fleece
Warm long sleeved shirts/tops for evening and early morning
One pretty but casual evening dress or Kaftan for dining out - remembering nights are cold
Something warm to sleep in
Kenya shillings (for presents/drinks if you go out)  You can get this out of an ATM with a bank card at the airport.
